The grill kit is a replacement part that was made by Pentair. Making this a genuine OEM product.
The front grill was designed for the purpose of being a protective cover from any outside influence for the cleaner’s internals. It also has a venturi jet positioned on its front side which helps stir up any dirt or debris that may be in its path. But most importantly it helps the cleaner with its back up process so that way it can get itself out of any trouble areas or path in which it cannot continue forward.
This part is silver to match the color of the cleaner while having little slotted openings across it so that way water can move through it freely which actually helps the cleaner with its maneuverability, without these holes, it would potentially slow the cleaner and the cleaning process down.
